Baby Chick

I saw my first baby chick yesterday. The chick looked just like a ball of yellow fur. Mommy said "pat the chick", but I don't know how to pat yet. I think the chick was a little stressed when my hand closed in. But I just wanted to touch it.

Easter Brunch

I got to go to a fancy Easter brunch in my pretty new dress today with Grandma and Grandpa Meyers, Uncle Mark and Aunt Jennifer. Mommy had chocolate strawberries - they looked really good, but I had to eat strained vegetables with turkey.

Pediatrician Visit

I went yesterday for my nine-month checkup. I weighed in at 21 lbs. 4 oz. (75 to 90 percentile) and am 29 3/4 in. tall (>95%). My head circumference was 17 7/8 in. (75 to 90%). Mommy and Daddy were struggling to keep up with me on the examination table since I kept on crawling around, pulling up and trying to jump off the table. The doctor came in and started poking around and pinching me. I didn't like it at all. After she left, a nurse came in and gave me a shot and that made me even angrier. It was no fun even though Mommy and Daddy said it would be an adventure. I will remember this place and holler if they try to bring me back!

Easter Who?

I saw this bunny at Whole Foods this afternoon. He sure is a lot bigger than Pookey Bunny. I'm not sure how I feel about him.

Messy Monkeys

I like getting my bib with monkeys on it messy.

Fetch!

I like to take the pieces of my play-mat and crawl around with them in my mouth. Daddy says that I look like a puppy dog.

High Five!

I'm so cool that I can high five now, even before I learn to talk out loud.

Aquarium Visit

Mommy and Daddy signed up for a membership to the Shedd Aquarium because I like watching animals that move around a lot. We went to the museum right after they opened to avoid the crowds and this time we didn't have to wait long. The Shedd has a new jellyfish exhibit that just opened up yesterday. I enjoyed watching the jellyfish...

...but mostly I liked trying to catch them...

...although they tenaciously refused to be caught!

I enjoyed being able to sit up in my stroller and seeing a lot more. I also saw the penguins and the whales today.

Mommy and Daddy fed me a bottle and even got to enjoy an early lunch in the cafe while I napped. I can't wait to go back again!

Nine Months Old!

I'm 3/4 of a year old today, or at least that's what Daddy said. I haven't learned fractions yet.

Stroller Fun

I got to sit in my stroller in a new way today, without the car seat. I can see many more things sitting up and facing forwards. Mommy took me to the store and I saw people moving about. I also spent a few minutes on the riverwalk before Mommy took me home because I was getting grumpy.

Whole Foods Visit Yesterday

This is my "whole food": a paper lid. I love chewing on paper products. Mommy says I am a termite monkey. I am very destructive when it comes to anything made of paper. I have already eaten most of my board books.

Zonked After Gym

I had lots of fun in gym class today. I learned how to tuck in my head when Daddy lifts up my legs and helps me to do a somersault. Mommy says I look a little stunned after somersaulting. Class is during my morning nap time, so I get a little tired after it.

Dinner at Chinatown

Tonight I went to Chinatown.

I had dinner with my friend Gavin. Mommy and Daddy and Gavin's Mommy and Daddy came along, too.

The Lincoln Park Zoo

Today I went to the zoo with Mommy and Daddy. I saw many wild animals there, including primates, large cats, otters, birds, and rhinos!

I enjoyed watching animals that move around a lot. I saw a lynx who was pacing back and forth in its den and watched it for a few minutes. It sure looks a lot like my kitty at home. I also like watching the flamingos. They are funny-looking birds that stand on one leg a lot. I'm going to try that as soon as I master standing on two legs.

Daddy put me next to a small crocodile who wasn't moving. He said that if it moved suddenly, he would probably pee his pants. I pee in my pants all the time, so I didn't see what the big deal was.

I saw my polar bear, too. Mommy and Daddy's friends Kate and Kyle helped me adopt a polar bear the other day. Daddy said he hoped they don't make us take him home. I thought that would be fun, actually.

Monkey Time!

I like to sit with Daddy at his desk. We pound on the desk and pretend to tell people what to do, so that I can learn to be a CEO.

Shopping Trip

Mommy and Daddy took me out shopping this afternoon. I like looking all around. In the parking lot, I saw seagulls for the first time!

American Taliban Got the Baby

Sleeping Before Gym

Mommy and Daddy signed me up for gym class at My Little Gym. I have a lot of fun in class but sometimes it is around the time of my morning nap. This morning Mommy let me sleep for a few more minutes in the car before the class started.

My Toilet My Crutch

I like getting up and holding on to anything in sight! If I am making a funny face, it is because Daddy was sitting here not too long ago. :)

I see Mommy has the phone. I'm coming to get the phone!
