Zoo Outing

Auntie Joyce, Mommy and I went to the zoo today. It was snowing and cold but we had fun. We saw a dolphin show. I even watched the dolphins perform a few tricks, but mostly I climbed up and down the bleachers and didn't pay attention.

We went to see the seals. It was hard for Mommy to take a picture of Auntie Joyce and me because I kept on squirming and wanting to run away!

We found a rock and pretended to be seals resting on top of the rocks.

Merry Christmas!

Daddy helped Santa Claus put up this Christmas tree. I really like it. The tree is decorated with beautiful ornaments and there are colorful snowflakes all around it.

Grandma and Grandpa Meyers and Uncle Mark and Aunt Jennifer and their kids joined Auntie Joyce, Mommy, Daddy, Alex and me to celebrate Christmas. We had a wonderful dinner that Daddy cooked.

Then it was time for the part of Christmas I like best: opening presents!

It was a wonderful tornado of gift-opening chaos. I didn't know which present to open up next!

I really like playing in the Thomas the Tank playhut that Grandma Lai gave me.


Aunt Jennifer did my hair up in a ponytail on top of my head. Mommy says I look cute.

Double Stroller

Mommy and Daddy got a double stroller for Alex and me. I already enjoy riding in it inside the house!

Christmas Train

Grandpa and Grandma Meyers came over today. I showed them my Christmas train and Daddy sat in the caboose with me. It was a full train! 

Teddy Bear Dress-Up

At language class today we learned names for pieces of winter clothing like coat, sweater, mittens, scarf, and boots. Then we dressed up a teddy bear in the clothes.

Christmas Train Play

My friend Ethan, his parents and his brothers Quinn and Will came to visit us this afternoon. I played with Ethan in my Christmas train.

Clean Potatoes

I helped Daddy wash his potato this morning for about 15 minutes. He said it was the cleanest potato ever.

Music Class Fun

Hinsdale Community Preschool Visit

Today Mommy and Daddy took me to visit the Hinsdale Community Preschool. I got to play in the room with the other two and a half year olds for a while. I tried out the little kids' potty but fell into the toilet with my pants on. I didn't want to leave. I want to go to school with the other kids!

Xie Che

In language class today, we played inside school buses ("xie che"). We are learning about different forms of transportation: car, plane, train, and boat.

Hinsdale Library

I like using the computers at the library. My favorite software program is "Go, Diego, Go!" I also enjoyed listening to the story of The Tortoise and the Hare on the computer this morning.

Huo Che

I played with "huo che" (trains) at Mandarin class.

Hugs

I like playing with my friend Jamie in music class. I gave him a big hug at the end of class.

Park Time

On Tuesday Mommy took Alex and me to the park. I played on the swing...

...and rocked on the froggy.

I met another little girl, Laila, at the park and played with her. I gave her a hug when she had to go home.

Jordan the Little Joey

At the zoo, I like pretending to be a small kangaroo.

I rode a tortoise on the carousel.

I hugged a tree. I like trees!

Music Class Bum

Yesterday in music class, while everyone else was on their feet dancing in a circle around the room, I was lying on the floor in the middle of the room. Mommy said I was a big bum.

I liked playing with my friend Jamie in music class.

Tiny Boat

This boat seems a bit small for me. I wonder why?

Morton Arboretum Adventure

This morning we went to the Morton Arboretum. I like patting the frogs in the Children's Garden.

I also like climbing on the acorn play structure.

"There's no water!"

I threw pebbles into the water with another little girl. It was fun!

I like pretending to be a spider with Daddy!

...Except when it looks like he's getting ready to eat me!

Gymboree Music Class

I really enjoy music class at Gymboree. I go every Saturday morning. The teacher calls my name a lot because I participate and I answer her questions. Here it almost looks like we are teaching the class together, doesn't it?

New Roller Skates

Yesterday evening the roller skates that Mommy bought me arrived. They are awesome! They are training skates and have three different settings. Mommy put these skates on the first setting where the wheels are locked. She says I have to learn how to walk in my skates first.

She also got me elbow, knee, and wrist pads. Don't I look tough in this picture? 

Mommy had to go to Costco to get groceries, so Daddy went with me to practice in the basement where there is more open space.

Brookfield Zoo Adventure

I got to go to the zoo again this weekend. This was the first time I rode on the lion at the front gate. He was fierce but I got him to let me ride him!

I went on off-roading on my own nature hike.

I went around to all the logs and pretended to be a beaver: "chomp chomp!"

I enjoy the playgrounds at the zoo, especially the slides.

We stopped by the Children's Zoo. I tried to break into the barn where the sheep live.

I went on the merry-go-round. I promised to not cry after going on the ride two times, but I cried after the first ride, when I had to get off and get back in line as well as after the second ride. Mommy was disappointed.

It's fun to swim in leaves!

Especially when I get to hang out with Daddy. As a bonus, we both have beards in this picture!
