Picnic and Music
We went downtown to listen to some Caribbean steel drum music. We had a picnic on the lawn, but Alex and I kept on running around and Mommy and Daddy had to chase after us.
Pediatrician Visit
Last Saturday, Daddy took me to the doctor for my yearly checkup. I am now 41 pounds (90%), 43 inches (95%) tall, my BMI is 15.6 (50-75%), and my blood pressure is 96/64. I got two shots, and one of them puffed up quite a bit while we were on vacation. Daddy had to call the after-hours service for advice, and the doctor said to keep an eye on it but it should disappear. It's a week later, and the puffiness is gone. There's only what looks like a bruise and it seems to be going away, too.
Shedd Aquarium and Chinatown
We went to the Shedd Aquarium with my friend Colin and his parents this morning. I was looking forward to playing in the submarine.
They renovated the penguin area. They took down the ledges where I used to climb, but it was just as fun.
They added some new features, like the penguin next, and I practiced sitting on the eggs. Although come to think of it, it's not really scientifically accurate. A male penguin will cradle a single egg on top of his feet and guard the egg for four months while the female penguin goes out to sea. http://earthsky.org/earth/male-penguin-eggs
We went to Chinatown for lunch. I got my own lychee bubble tea drink. It was yummy!

Saturday Adventures
Today we went for my friend Karen's christening. It was a nice ceremony. I liked hanging out with my friend Berkley.
The service was followed by a reception at The Happ Inn. I chose the pasta, which was good, and really liked the mousse, although Daddy had to explain it was not really made from 'moose'.

Then we went to the Botanic Garden and saw butterflies in the special exhibit.
They even landed on peoples' clothing.
I enjoyed wandering through the park grounds. I would have loved to play in the fountain, but Mommy said no.

Vacation, Part II
On Tuesday we played on the beach some more before lunch. Grandpa let loose some balloons with air escaping so that they flew all over. A couple even flew into the lake, so Daddy went around the pier to retrieve them. But they were nowhere to be found.
We had fun playing in the sand together.
Uncle Al helped us build moats.

Vacation, Part I
We went to the lodge in Door County for vacation. We arrived Sunday afternoon and immediately we went to the beach and I waded in, clothes and all!
Alex and I had a lot of fun playing on the beach.
Daddy took me out in a kayak, and Mommy took Alex.
We watched lots of TV during the trip.
On Monday, we explored the pier. I lounged on a beach chair.
We took a dip in the swimming pool before lunch.
We met up with big Aunt Jennifer, Uncle Mark and their kids on Monday afternoon. I liked playing in the big tree on the resort.
Mommy took big Alex and me in the paddle boat.
Daddy even broke protocol and jumped in a kayak without a life vest to take a picture of us. (Imagine that!)
We put on our swimming suits and played on the beach and in the water.
In the evening, we went to a restaurant that sounds like 'Fuzziwigs' or 'Fuzzy Fred' which was right on the lake for some al fresco dining. I played with big Alex.
Mommy thinks this picture makes me look really young.
Alex and I preferred to sleep in Mommy and Daddy's bed instead, but they didn't let us. Meanies!

Action-Packed Day
Today I went to summer camp as usual, and then afterwards, stopped by the library. We then went to Burlington Park to have a picnic and see the Jesse White Tumblers. They were pretty awesome to watch.
We went back to the library for a bit before Mommy took me to Language Stars at the Community House for a makeup class.
We played games under a tree outdoors and played water balloons on the baseball diamonds.
